The Take Your Seat book comes to life at The Well, presented by Indigo
July 15 to August 15, 2024
Our Summer of Exhibitions continues with a brand-new immersive experience at The Well, downtown Toronto's newest retail, commercial and residential space. Presented by Indigo, this exhibition makes our first public book larger than life! We've selected some of our favourite pages of the book to share with an expected daily audience of 22,000.
The exhibition was designed to mirror the shape of an open book, allowing guests to follow the journey of our director's chair, page by page.
Situated first in The Well's Grand Atrium, and now in front of Indigo's main entrance, the exhibition is open and free to the public until August 15th. To arrange a free guided tour, for groups of any size, please contact us.
Portraits of the World series celebrates connection in global debut at The Aga Khan Museum in Toronto
June 28 - July 1, 2024
Take Your Seat was thrilled to join The Aga Khan Museum's Rhythms of Canada Festival for Canada Day weekend. The pop-up exhibition of our global portrait series, featuring some of our favourite portraits from around the world, shared a message of human connection:
"[...] At our heart level, we are all very much alike. Surface differences fade as we recognize the deeper bond of humanity that connects us all. True connection to others, to our planet, and to our best selves, now feels possible."
The exhibition was paired with a photo op for festivalgoers to take their seat; each becoming part of a larger mosaic of Take Your Seat portraits taken throughout the Festival. It was an honour to partner with The Aga Khan Museum to promote our message of unity.
TYS Costa Rica brings the Pura Vida to downtown Toronto with Costa Rica Tourism
April 24, 2024
A crowd of travel writers, airline partners, and agency guests joined a lively delegation from Essential Costa Rica and VoX International to experience our chair's journey throughout Costa Rica.
Toronto experienced the essence of Costa Rica through our chair's encounters with the country's incredible people, rainforests, beaches, and wildlife.
Surrounded by gallery images, behind-the-scenes video, a massive photo wall, a keynote presentation, and more than a few traditional snacks, Take Your Seat shared our very personal discovery of the Pura Vida.
The expedition transformed us. We hope that the photographs, their accompanying stories, and the conversations that night did the same for all who attended!
Toronto City Hall shares TYS with the Children of the World
April 12 - 19, 2024
Take Your Seat returns to downtown Toronto with a solo exhibition at Toronto City Hall!
Presented in partnership with The Turkish Society of Canada and Turkish Airlines, this exhibition was created as part of the International Children's Day celebrations.
Toronto's Mayor and the Consul-General of Türkiye were among the guests of the official opening.
If it takes a village to raise a child, Take Your Seat with the Children of the World illustrates that familial ideal on a global scale. All of us want our children to grow up loving, generous, curious, and kind. No matter our backgrounds, we are all joined together in that pursuit.
The exhibition was moved outdoors for Sunday, April 14. It will be free and open to the public inside the main doors of Toronto City Hall until April 19. Enjoy!

In a global first for us, celebrated DJ and conservationist, Note Panayanggool has created an aural atmosphere for our large-scale murals that encircle the garden. Our images and stories share The Peninsula’s perspective on one of the cities they call home. The opening reception was attended by Ambassadors, artists, and other VIP guests. You are invited to Take Your Seat!

Guests of Brookfield Place are invited to experience the photographic journey of our director’s chair to Lake Superior’s North Shore. The very nature that inspired The Group of Seven’s excursions to the region between 1921 and 1928, now inspires the Allen Lambert Galleria in Toronto's downtown core.
Wander alongside Canada’s most famous painters while being reminded that we each play a part to ensure their muse inspires generations to come. To view the accompanying virtual gallery, please click here.
Presented by Brookfield Place, with thanks to the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
